Downloading iWEB

1. If you are new to iWEB,
   you should know the following:

   1. iWEB is made of two modules shipped together:
      • Converter module - This module converts your interactive programs to programs able to run also under WEB
      • Runtime module - This module supports the execution of the converted programs in dual mode, interactive and WEB.
      Each module has a separate authorization code and a separate expiration date.
      Different systems need different authorization codes.
   2. iWEB Free Trial Program.
      Any individual iSeries system may be allowed to try iWEB at no charge for a given "trial period". Read more »
      You may join this program by registering the serial number of your iSeries and providing some information about yourself and your Company: see point 3 in this page.
2. If you already installed iWEB,
   you may download and install its latest version, provided that your maintenance license has not expired (a "maintenance license" is available for the free trial period also).
   All iWEB releases include the iWEB Applet to be used by the client browsers. However, it may happen that a new version of the iWEB Applet is made available before that the next full iWEB release is made available. Installers may take advantage of this, by replacing the Applet with its newest version, while waiting for the full iWEB release to become available.
   The current version of iWEB is dated January 22, 2008.
   The latest version of its Applet is dated January 10, 2008.
   To know what iWEB version is on your system, enter command iweb/release.
   To know what iWEB Applet release is on your syste, enter command iweb/dspapldate.
   If the version of the full iWEB release installed on your system or the version of its Applet is older than the current one, and you want to install it, proceed to point 3.
3. Proceed to download
   Enter the serial number of your iSeries system (use command rtvsysval qsrlnbr to find it out) and press the "go" button:

   • If the system was already registered, you will get the download page right away.
   • If the system has not yet been registered, you will be asked some pieces of information, then you will get the download page. An automated e-mail containing the authorization codes for the free trial period will be sent to your e-mail address.
